Kindfulness
“An ancient teaching says that by looking after oneself, one looks after others …and by looking after others, one looks after oneself.”
This pearl of wisdom is the beginning line of a wonderful, inspiring little book , Kindfulness, by Ajahn Brahm.
Brahm takes mindfulness to a whole new compassionate level, as he instructs us to not just be mindful…be kindful.
With the holidays upon us, it is especially incumbent for us all to give ourselves the quiet and peace that allows space for kindfulness to flow.
We are in charge of gifting time to ourselves to cultivate inner peace, and, as ancient wisdom tells us, peace will naturally flow to out in the world. So please, enjoy your yoga practice and meditation, prayers of gratitude, and walks in nature. We will all benefit from your practice!
As Calvin Coolidge so aptly stated,
“Christmas is not a time or a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”
Wishing you the golden radiance of kindfulness and peace through the holidays and beyond.
Namaste,
The Yogaknees team
